Large Water Meter Testing, Evaluation and Maintenance

Leak Survey, Valve Exercising, Meter TestingThis program is designed to help a Utility in two areas.  The Utility’s master water meters must be tested to ensure accuracy as the water is delivered into the distribution system.  The program is also designed to retrieve and retain the large amounts of potential revenue that is associated with industrial and commercial water meters.  The water meters are tested over a broad range of flows all in accordance with American Water Works Association standards.  The water meter is also evaluated to determine the proper size and type for each application.

Water Distribution System Leak Surveys and Pin-Pointing

This program is designed to determine leakage within a Utility’s water distribution system.   Our trained technicians use the latest state-of-the-art listening equipment and leak correlators to conduct the leak survey program.  This program will help conserve a precious resource and lower your production costs.

Valve Locating, Exercising and Computerized Mapping

The importance of the valve location, exercising and computerized mapping program is apparent when major emergencies arise.  Often personnel are unable to either locate or close a valve or several valves during a water main break or other water related emergencies.  These situations occur when valves are not exercised annually or at least every two to three years.

Fire Hydrant Flow Testing

The program was developed to ensure that the Utility’s hydrants are operational and that the distribution system will provide adequate flow for both domestic use as well as fire flow.  The program is operated in accordance with American Water Works Association standards.

Water Main Flushing

Unilateral water main flushing is done to improve water quality.  The program was developed to ensure the least amount of customer complaints, such as discolored water and also to reduce stress on the hydraulic network.  When completed the water quality will rise and the efficiency of your distribution system will improve.

Water Main Locating

This program was developed to assist a Utility in locating water mains and services.  Our trained technicians use the latest state-of-the-art line locating equipment to conduct this service.

24 hour Flow Testing, C-Factor Testing, Pump Curves and Head Loss

The flow measurements, C-Factor Testing, Pump Curves and Head Loss are done with our Polcon® Pitot Rod, Polcon® Sentry electronic flow recorder and Polcon® Pacer pressure recorder.  Our flow testing programs can help you determine consumption patterns, obtain Hazen-Williams "C" values for your hydraulic model and determine whether a water main is overloaded or under utilized.
