As a part of our services we manufacture a line of flow and pressure monitoring equipment.  The following are descriptions of the four Polcon products we manufacture and use.

The Polcon Sentry Recorder is a totally unique solid state microprocessor type recorder that senses, gathers, stores, and processes differential pressure from a pitot rod. The sentry generates a 4-20mA signal using a Rosemount differential pressure recorder along with a Telog 2102 series or 3000 series recorder. The recorder can be set to measure flow for short term testing  such as a five minute test, or twenty four hours from 1 day (with a sampling period of one minute) to 7 days (with a sampling period of two minutes) on a single set of batteries. The sentry is self-contained, has its own power pack, weighs less than 30 lbs., and fits into the standard 20.25” manhole entrance.  Included with the Sentry is an extra set of batteries, a battery charger, a 3’ connector cable, and an operation manual. Data is “downloaded” using a laptop computer with the software provided. All data can be permanently stored on the computer’s hard drive, portable hard drive, CD or flash drive. The data can also be exported to a variety of spreadsheet programs, such as Microsoft Excel, so the data can be analyzed and reviewed with the Polcon^® spread sheet forms. With this process, manometers, rulers, toxic indicating liquids and manual entries are eliminated, thus insuring the integrity of the data collected.

The Polcon^® Pacer is a state of the art pressure recorder.  The Pacer is a self-contained microprocessor recorder  that senses, gathers, stores, and processes pressure data every second. The Pacer uses an Ashcroft pressure transducer along with a Telog 3000 series recorder. This recorder will generate maximum pressures, minimum pressures, average pressures, times of occurrence, and produce graphs of the pressure history. Data is “downloaded” using a laptop computer with the software provided. All data can be permanently stored on the computer’s hard drive, portable hard drive, CD or flash drive. The data can also be exported to a spreadsheet program, such as Microsoft Excel, so the data can be analyzed and reviewed with the Polcon^® spread sheet forms.

The Polcon^® Pitot Rod is used to accurately measure the velocity of flow in a pipe by differential pressure. The pitot rod consists of an insertion pitot tube that is placed through the cross section of the pipe in the exact center to measure the average mean flow velocity.  Construction with high-grade brass insures a device that is durable as well as accurate. Our “O” ring packing and a locking device assures that all Polcon^® Pitot Rods will provide a safe and leak proof installation. The solid orifice plate assures the upstream and downstream orifices remain in the same plane and directly opposite one another giving an accurate measurement of the velocity in the pipe.

The Polcon^® Pipe Caliper is used for the accurate determination of pipe diameter to obtain the true Q = AV relationship. The inside diameters are always taken to the 1/16- inch to maintain the true integrity of the hydraulic data. The unique design permits accurate determination of the pipe diameter even if the tap extends through the pipe wall.  Constructed with high-grade brass and steel the caliper is sure to be a device that is durable as well as accurate. Our “O” ring packing and locking device assures that all Polcon^® Pipe Calipers will provide safe and leak proof installations.
